I've asked around, and this doesn't seem to be a general problem on Solaris.

E.g. a reply a got:
This is strange, I don't see it in my bulk builds (and for some reason I
haven't seen this bug before, either). I use lang/gcc46 for compiling.

Please provide more information.
For example, for fftw, what does config.log say?
