Hello, I'm looking at deploying Dovecot IMAP server in the near future
and trying to understand my options. It looks like pkgsrc currently
contains mail/dovecot2 at version 2.3.21 which is no longer supported.
The Dovecot project has moved on to version 2.4.X which breaks 2.3.X
configuration files and removes features like director and replicator.
If you need scalability and load balancing, they push you towards a
paid "Dovecot Pro" version, where the fee is based on the number of
mailboxes you host :-/

I assume version 2.3.X is no longer receiving any security fixes. If
that is the case, are there plans for pkgsrc to upgrade mail/dovecot2
to 2.4.X? If yes, how long will 2.3.X stay in pkgsrc before it is
removed completely?
