I installed a SMC Elite 16C Ultra, and configured it with their software under DOS. The configuration software chose its favorite values for irq, port, and buffer address. I copied that down, booted NetBSD, and configured a kernel...and it just worked. That was back with 0.9. Then 1.0 just worked. Then -current. So I've always thought SMC Ultras were the easiest boards in the world. My system chose: port 300, mem d800, irq 11. --David Gluss david@pure.com 408-524-3028
