I just bought an Adaptec 2940 (no U or W). The kernel doesn't 
recognize it:

> pci 0 bus 0 device 19 unknown vendor/product 0x9004/0x8178
> (class: mass storage, subclass: SCSI, revision 0x00) not configured

 It seems like a new revision of the SCSI chip is in. How can I 
overcome the problem? Can I cheat making kernel to believe it's a normal 
2940. Wiil it work ?
