No, because this will *still* cause existing partitions to be matched by 'dk' units instead of (for example) 'wd' units, which will cause existing systems to fail to boot -- though in a way which is at least perhaps possible to recover from using single-user mode, unlike the issue with the GPT method discovering an irrelevant and unused GPT table in the alternate location.
