FWIW, I recently installed Firefox 40.0 on my amd64 system. In the past 24
hours, it has crashed twice. (Once while scrolling through a long page, once
overnight while I was sleeping and nothing was happening!)
I have not had any time to investigate further, but I might suggest that 40.0
has "stability issues". :)
Web sites and browsers together have stability issues. Too many require
tons of Javascript that runs continuously (and FireFox is apparently not
smart enough to stop Javascript in non-active windows) and continuously
consume memory until all memory is gone.
You should try Firefox with your bot, but check to see how much Javascript
is loaded by whatever page the bot needs to visit, or if you even need
Javascript.
