There are a lot of programs that the DOE administers. They'll continue as Trump cannot stop them. That's most of the money.
This is not the Carter DOE. Ed in the Fed has existed for over a century. They just reorganized in the Carter years.
The DOE did NCLB and other fuckery, so I won't especially miss it.
The real issues are Trump violating laws through his cuts and withholding, and spineless Congress allowing him to do so. Spineless on both sides of the aisle.

It is truly fascinating to see the cheers as the orange shitgibbon and the South African Nazi, who is - according to papa Errol - "not racist because he never spat on out black servants", dismantle the US and turn it into a Latin American shithole look-alike.
That after downgrading it from a world super power to a regional bully.

Stop abusing the word Nazi. It looses all credibility and very soon people will carry it like a badge of honor and it will be all your fault.

Who is abusing it? If it salutes like a Nazi, and attends extreme far right German rallies like a Nazi what else do you call it? A very naughty boy?

When spastic hand waving on a stage is all that required to be called a Nazi, then it is not a big deal to be a Nazi. You are de-stigmatizing Nazism. That is a huge problem created by people like you that want to abuse the term for political gain.

When spastic hand waving
Spastic hand waving? Is that the excuse this week? There is no resemblance at all between what Elon did and "hand waving" as anyone would understand it. Particularly when combined with the "gesture starts at the chest" preamble. And once extended, it did not wave (or waver).
Or, as Stephen Colbert put it [youtu.be]: "For the past 80 years on human history there are only a couple of acceptable positions for a fully extended arm. Okay? It goes [reaches down to waist height] pet the puppy

Your political bias distorts your perception. Here is Tim Waltz [youtube.com] making the same hand gesture while campaigning with Harris. Is he also a Nazi?

I'm staying the hell out of the "Elon is a Nazi" argument, but I can see why you shared the first video first. That's some pretty "clever" editing there. Ya know, the part where they cut off the part of his hand that shows Walz is fucking waving. This is actually, legitimately, the first time I've watched the video of what Musk did. Compared to what you just shared? Calling that a stark difference doesn't really cut it. Thumps chest, snaps arm straight out, repeat three times. Versus hand over heart, a

You political affiliation will highly correlate with which interpretation you are going to see in each of these clips.
The key difference, is that I am not sharing Waltz clip in attempt to insinuate that he is a Nazi, I am sharing it to cause cognitive dissonance to highlight bias in misinterpreting Musk actions. More so, there are clips out there where someone AI-swapped Musk clip, which are even more dissonance-inducing, but you will have to search for them yourself.

No kidding. Nobody likes it when their guy does a Nazi salute. Three times.
Again, I'm not jumping on the "Musk is a Nazi" bandwagon, but it's pretty hard to look at that clip and not come to the conclusion that's what it was. That being said, you, I, and the rest of the country (save for Musk) will never know what his intent there was. He's an awkward dude in public. And that's a perfectly viable explanation: Nothing more than an awkward version of what Walz did. THAT being said, it still sure as fuck l

When I watched that live, I immediately thought "they will cut this out of context and have a field day with it". Still, the intent and circumstances matter. You would not think a toddler reaching for a toy is doing Nazi salute. At the same time, footage of Hitler simply waving at the crowd could be reasonably interpreted as a Nazi salute.

Most of time context is important, but I don't feel like this is one of them. Unless this missing context was "this was a tryout for a WWII film".
Still, the intent and circumstances matter.
This I will agree on. I'm fine chalking it up to an awkward man being awkward. Been guilty of that more times than I'd care to admit.
At the same time, footage of Hitler simply waving at the crowd could be reasonably interpreted as a Nazi salute.
Yeah, no.
Either way, I have been intentionally staying out of this line of discussion, mainly because there's no point in it. Was a Nazi salute, wasn't a Nazi salute? A buncha dudes on the Internet arguing about it isn't going to a

Shit, forgot I was going to clarify that part. Replace that snip with this: "...context is important, but if that were a Nazi salute I don't feel like...

Indeed! If you lean to the left by American standards, your interpretation will correlate somewhat with objective reality. If you sit on the Nazi Musk crazy MAGA wing, then you'll somehow interpret it as a devastating attack on the other team proving THEY are the REAL Nazis, not the guy ripping off a Nazi salute.
Posting dumbshit AI videos making Walz do a Nazi salute doesn't change anything.

This is going to be awkward for you. [youtube.com].

Both sides raise their arms! Both sides! Therefore I support the Nazi, because both sides.
Except you know elbow slightly bent, palm facing forwards is not a Nazi salute. Unlike what Elon was doing.

Funny, when I watched that live I just saw a Nazi salute. No out of context needed.
Then later on he doesn't even have the decency to apologise for it. Clearly he's either promoting fascism, trolling, or both. A decent human being would at least feel regret and embarrassment over doing something so widely interpreted as endorsing Nazism and offer an apology.
This makes me think back to a couple years ago when he agreed with an X post about Replacement Theory and ended up touring former Nazi concentration camp
byskam240 ( 789197 ) writes:
And if anyone had at the time interpreted that as a Nazi salute I bet Waltz would have had the decency to apologies for it.
Funny how this clip from Waltz is only getting attention now that conservatives need to run deflection for Musk, isn't it?
Does Waltz also push teplacement theory btw? And why does X's policy under Musk of only censoring posts that Musk disagrees with not apply to racist posts?
