We have different standards on eggs. We have a washing process that stripes away the natural barrier, but then we need to refrigerate those eggs. We do this because it cuts down on food-borne pathogens. That's why we keep our eggs refrigerated while Mexico does not.
We can't import them because they don't meet our safety standards. Same for the cheap EVs (I'm sure China makes luxury ones too). They just don't meet our crash safety standards.
