People as a group are stupid and do what they are told.
It matters not that they are going to sell every single word you utter, every emoji you type to private companies and give it for free to the CIA.

Not necessarily stupid, but for them the computer is an appliance (sad but true) , if it runs the sw they want at a performance they can accept, the OS version is irrelevant to them. Fair enugh, I said most people not most gamers, but I suspect there is a certain overlap here.
