That area is recognized by both countries to be under US jurisdiction by treaty. Mexico could retain the Gulf of Mexico name in their waters without conflicting names.

It's stupid for companies to get involved in political pissing matches. They screwed up somewhat over the last few years and got too invested in the DEI stuff, thinking that scoring political points would do them some good, and it came back to bite them hard. Having learned their lesson, don't expect any of them to take positions on much of anything that doesn't directly affect their profit/loss statements.
