Editor: Office, .NET, and Windows Programming

We are looking for an editor to join our technical book team for Office, Windows, and .NET programming and scripting titles. The editor's responsibilities include editing and rewriting books; acquiring and developing authors; developing new titles; and establishing and maintaining key relationships with industry and Microsoft contacts and community leaders. This job is based in Cambridge, MA and requires some travel.

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must have three or more years experience with Office, Windows and .NET developer tools (from VBA to Visual Studio .NET) and have at least three years of editing experience (preferably in book publishing).
  • Solid communication and negotiating skills are a must.
  • Pluses: Freelance writing background and hands-on staff editing experience, knowledge of the C# or VB.NET programming languages, and numerous contacts in the MSDN, Office Developer, and open source communities.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
