java.net JavaOne wiki / Community Corner / Podcast / Community Leader's Weekend

Java-net is the virtual watercooler where the java.net community can find answers about our site and our community. Here, you can find community wide tools including several discussion forums, issue tracking and a new Project Starter Kit. Use these tools learn about how java.net really works or how to get your own project up and running. If you are looking for other cool projects to join, take a look at the top projects on java.net.

Discussion forums are places where you can talk to other java.net Community Members and with the Community Leaders. Post your questions. There are a number of different forums currently available for you to join in:

• Community Discussion - Have a general thought about this site, the community or the technology? Come join our general community discussions!
• Wish List - Got ideas on how things should change? Come share your ideas with the java.net community leaders. Help to develop this site and our community.
• Governance - To avoid chaos, every organization has to define how the community really works, what are our processes and how are the leaders of our community selected.
• How Do I? - Trying to figure something out? This is a great place to ask. Look here first and ask so we can capture frequently asked questions and answers.
• JobsWiki - Looking for a paying job, or want to post a link to your resume where it might be seen by recruiters? Check back every once in a while to see if there's something new happening!

If you know what you need done, log in issue in Issue tracking! You can check on the status of open issues too.

Want to find out how the project approval process works? Come checkout the Project Approval procedure. This project is owned by Marla Parker, the java.net Community Manager. Please feel free to contact her directly if you have any questions about this project or community. Daniel Berg, the java.net editor, and John Bobowicz (also known as Jbob), the previous community manager and current Chief Technologist, are also owners of this project.

Roles in the java-net project

All java.net members are automatically granted an observer role in this project. It is the only permissions you need to take advantage of everything here. No other roles are necessary nor are being granted. If you feel you need additional permissions in the project, send an email to the community manager explaining your needs.
