This PR is inspired by #224
It wasn't approved and merged as it had linting issues and a few conflicts.
I have fixed both, refactored the code and submitted the changes to the original PR as seen here,
gaspardip#2
but it's been almost 3 months and the author hasn't responded.
So, I have decided to submit the required changes directly as a separate PR.
gaspardipstill gets credit as I have preserved their commit in this PR. You can see that they are included as a participant.
