Only one HD bay means that you have a R10k or R12k.  If you have the
R12k, this is great!  If you have the R10k, sometimes R12k modules are
available cheaply.

There are most certainly cool running 36G drives available.  And I don't
think the O2 is too particular about drive heat anyway.
