According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), all of it land.

At the 2000 census there were 55 people, 23 households, and 14 families in the CDP. The population density was 85.3 inhabitants per square mile (32.9/km²). There were 26 housing units at an average density of 40.3 per square mile (15.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.64%.^[4]

Of the 23 households 17.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.8% were married couples living together, 8.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.1% were non-families. 34.8% of households were one person and 13.0% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.93.

The age distribution was 23.6% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 18.2% from 25 to 44, 43.6% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% 65 or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females, there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 133.3 males.

The median household income was $30,179 and the median family income was $30,179. Males had a median income of $0 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $12,062. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.

At the 2010 census Spring Garden had a population of 16. The population density was 24.5 people per square mile (9.5/km²). The racial makeup of Spring Garden was 15 (93.8%) White, 0 (0.0%) African American, 0 (0.0%) Native American, 1 (6.3%) Asian, 0 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 0 (0.0%) from other races, and 0 (0.0%) from two or more races. The whole population lived in households, no one lived in non-institutionalized group quarters and no one was institutionalized.
