Kanun No.: 2429 Kabul Tarihi: 17/3/1981 (Law number 2429) ("Kabul Tarihi" means the date the law passed.)
''A) Resmi bayram günleri şunlardır: 1. 23 Nisan günü Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramıdır. Bugün ana ve ilkokullar düzeyinde törenler yapılır.''
(These are the official holidays: April 23 is the National Sovereignty and Children's Day.) (It also says ceremonies must be held in primary and elementary schools.)
(This is the original law declaring April 23 as a National Day [date:02.05.1921 - Law Number: 13] https://www.resmigazete.gov.tr/arsiv/13.pdf which I am unable to read. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't mention a Children's day.)
This is the Law about the National Holidays in June 1, 1935: https://www.resmigazete.gov.tr/arsiv/3017.pdf (Kanun No: 2739 Kabul Tarihi: 27/5/1935) [Sayfa-Page: 5262] it says: ''Madde 2: B - Ulusal Egemenlik Bayramı; 22 nisan öğleden sonra ve 23 nisan günü.'' (Article 2: B- "National Sovereignty Day" only.) (It also further clarifies the time table. i.e. April 22 afternoon and full April 23.)
