1992

edit

In 1992 Yugoslavia (the country called Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which consisted of six republics' and two autonomous provinces) did not participate. Instead the newly formed Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (consisting of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia) participated. The only thing those two have in common is the simmilar name. Those two should not be per common sense put together. -- Imbris (talk) 22:02, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not start a discussion for the same thing each time it occurs. The "all holy EBU" calls it the same Yugoslavia for Eurovision so that is what it is and you simply cannot argue against it. I'm tempted to suggest a block for you if you keep up this disruptive behavior. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 22:07, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
You should stop insisting on non-negotiability of this issue. If you would stop insisting on POV supported by a one source policy that would be just fine. If you are not to stop with biased editing, that could result in serious consequences toward your editorial integrity. -- Imbris (talk) 22:12, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
To clear this up, the EBU refers to all Former-Yugoslav entries as Yugoslavia. The last Yugoslav entry was in 1992 and this template should not be changed again. ńăŧħăń - ŧăłķ 22:16, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Not true, the EBU doesn't refer to nothing of a sort. The webmasters of eurovision.tv do, that is a big difference. I will not resort to edit-war but your opinion that whenever the word Yugoslavia is used - the same thing is called out - it is simply not true, and diminish the credibility of this encyclopaedia. -- Imbris (talk) 22:25, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I added a note that it was FR Yugoslavia in 1992. I believe it's Ok now? Vanjagenije (talk) 08:57, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

No. Though FR Yugoslavia participated, it took the same plain "Yugoslavia" name as SFRY did in years past. The contest views it as a continuation of that country's participation. It did not enter under the name "FR Yugoslavia". Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 14:27, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
