Tomara Thomas is the stage name of Tom Adams,[2] a British drag performer. She is best known for competing on the fifth seriesofRuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Early life and education

Tom Adams was born to Sharon and Jason Adams in Hartlepool, County Durham, England. He began taking dance classes at age 10.[1] Adams started doing drag at age 14 under the name "Tamara".[3][1] His dance teacher helped him create the name for his drag persona. He attended Manor College and has studied musical theatre.[2][4]

Career

Adams has worked as a professional dancer, including on cruise ships.[2]

Tomara Thomas was part of a drag trio that performed as Interval Act during the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023,[5][6] and she competed on series 5ofRuPaul's Drag Race UK. Tomara Thomas impersonated Robin WilliamsasMrs. Doubtfire for the Snatch Game challenge.[7] She was a top three finalist.

Personal life

Adams is from Hartlepool and has lived in London to study musical theatre.[2][8] He moved back to Hartlepool after the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] Adams uses the pronouns he/him out of drag and she/her in drag.[9]
