The company was originally established as '''Japan Entertainment Network K.K.''' On 1 September 1997, the company launched the [[Cartoon Network (Japanese TV channel)|Japanese version of Cartoon Network]] on PerfecTV (a forerunner to what is now Sky PerfecTV Premium Service).
