Thanks for List of countries by GDP per capita (Atlas Method). However the table actually lists GNI per capita, not GDP per capita. Now retitled List of countries by GNI per capita. Important to get it right. --Tagishsimon (talk) 19:21, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

    Speedy deletion of Covalent Solar

    edit

A tag has been placed on Covalent Solar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}tothe top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 15:39, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve List of deepest caves

    edit

Hi, I'm Mz7. Jbaranao, thanks for creating List of deepest caves!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It is a good start. The next step is to cite reliable sourcestoverify the information in the list. Make sure you provide enough sources to show that the "deepest caves" are a subject often discussed in a group with each other.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Mz7 (talk) 23:29, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Bob Beamon into Athletics at the 1968 Summer Olympics – Men's long jump. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 01:10, 13 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

    Atacama Desert

    edit

I just reversted your changes in Atacama desert. The subject has been widely discussed in the talk page, including why references as the ones provided by you are not relevant (in such extreme conditions, pluviometric measurements are not appropriate and it's necessary to rely on geological considerations). For future references, it is important to always check the talk page before making changes SFBB (talk) 15:06, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

As I extensively explained in the talk (and as it's also explained in the references I posted), the hyperaridity in the McMurdo dry valley obeys to katabatic winds and is, therefore, a extremely local phenomenon. Depending on the level of exposure, a given point may not see precipitation in millions of years, while a less exposed place just 100 meters away may indeed see some precipitation. It's hard to imagine from a convetional perspective and even harder to measure with pluviometric stations. Btw...even in th Atacama desert, the aridity estimations do not base on pluviometric measurementsSFBB (talk) 15:59, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I think that's an interesting point, but I'm not sure to which extent it'S expedient to go deep into this the article on the Atacama desert (as it's only there because it defies conventional wisdom regarding the Atacama desert). I think, maybe it would be more appropriate here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extremes_on_Earth SFBB (talk) 11:51, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (second request)

    edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Presidencies of Grover Cleveland into Charles Foster (Ohio politician). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:17, 24 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
