Gangapur district[3] is a districtofRajasthan State in north-west India. Gangapur City is the district headquarter. It comes under Bharatpur Division. It is one of the newest districts of Rajasthan.[4]

At the time of the 2011 census, what is now Gangapur City district has a population of 920,340. Gangapur City has a sex ratio of 875 females per 1000 males. 153,038 (16.63%) lived in urban areas. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes made up 192,321 (20.90%) and 226,406 (24.60%) of the population respectively.[6][7]
