3OH!3 (pronounced "three oh three") is a pop group from Boulder, Colorado. The band is best known for their hit single "Don't Trust Me" from their second album Want, which reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. Their second single, "Starstrukk", was a top ten hit in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland and Australia.
3OH!3 formed in 2004 and was named after the 303 area code,[1] which includes Boulder as well as the Denver metropolitan area. Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte met in a physics class while attending the University of Colorado.
3OH!3's second album, Want, was released on July 8, 2008. It reached number 44 on the Billboard 200.[2] The lyrics for "Don't Trust Me" have been controversial, as some have accused the band of misogyny.[3] The song reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100. The band contributed an original theme song titled "Sex on the Beach" for The Real World: Cancun.[4] 3OH!3 also wrote an anthem for Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies.
After playing in Denver during the Warped Tour 2008, 3OH!3 signed on for all venues of Warped Tour 2008. The band performed in Panama City Beach, Florida for MTVU's Spring Break in March 2009, opening for upcoming rapper Sid Hyet. The band later headlined the 2009 Alternative Press Tour across the U.S. 3OH!3 played at EndFest in Sacramento, California, and was part of Kiss Concert '09 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. They played at Kiss The Summer Hello 2009 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, New York, June 3, 2009. 3OH!3 joined the Warped Tour once again in 2009. In summer 2009 they appeared at the Reading/Leeds festivals in the UK.
The band was featured in a 14-page photo spread in Cliché Magazine's "Green Issue" in August 2009.[5] They released a remix of their second single, "Starstrukk," featuring Katy Perry digitally on September 8, 2009.[6] It was a top ten hit in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland and Australia.
3OH!3 were featured on the Kesha song "Blah Blah Blah." A new song, "Follow Me Down," was written for the compilation album for the film Alice in Wonderland. The pair will also be supporting All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Third Eye Blind, and LMFAO on The Bamboozle Roadshow 2010.
On February 5, 2010, it was announced that Cobra Starship and 3OH!3 would be embarking on a co-headlining tour called The Too Fast For Love Tour. They are currently recording their third studio album, Streets of Gold, due out June 29, 2010. Ke$ha will be featured on the song, "My First Kiss".[7] 3OH!3 released a video for the song "House Party" on April 8 as a teaser for Streets of Gold. The group hired Andrew W.K. to do a rock remix of "House Party", which was released virally on Friday April 16, 2010. 3OH!3 had met Andrew W.K. at a house party in Memphis, Tennessee. [8] On April 27, 2010, 3OH!3 announced that "My First Kiss (Feat. KE$HA)" was going to be able to be heard on their website at 3:03 PM EST. They also stated that at midnight that night, it will be available on iTunes.[9]
