National Film Awards (Bengali: জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার) is the most prominent film award ceremony in Bangladesh. Established in 1975 by Government of Bangladesh.[1] This is the only film awards given to the Government of Bangladesh.[2] Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in Dhaka. 1982 was the 7th ceremony of National Film Awards.[1]

Trivia

1982 was the 7th ceremony of Bangladesh National Film Award. This year awards were given in 15 categories. This year awards for Best Film and Best Art Director were not given. Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo and Dui Poisar Alta dominated the ceremony securing 6 and 5 awards consecutively. Mohammed Mohihuddin won the award of best director for Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo. This one was the third award for Nayok Raj Razzak in best actor category and second award for Shabana in best actress category.[1]
