Martha Alicia Villareal Esparza is a native of Monterrey, Mexico, born on an August 31st. Althought she appears to be younger than 30, she refuses to give out her age.

Villareal first performed the song Mundo De Juguetes at the Pipo the clown's national tv show, where she was taken by her parents. Her first professional performance was at a church fundraiser.

In1995, her group, Limite, started touring along with the more famous group of Bronco. When Selena Quintanilla passed away, she was pointed out as the next Selena by music critics. Her group became a wildly successful group of Musica Nortena, with hits such like Acariciame. Villareal was the group's voice.

Villareal got married a few years ago and had a daughter as a product of her marriage, but her marriage had problems, which became of public knowledge, and she recently got divorced. She's trying to make it as a solo singer now, and her single Yeguita has raised to the top of the charts. In it she sings like she's telling a man that she was too much woman for him. It is rumored that she wrote that song as a message to her former husband.
