Allium galanthum (syn. Allium pseudocepa Schrenk.) is an edible and medicinal plant in the Alliaceae family. It is native to Central Asia: Siberia, Xinjiang, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. It grows at elevations of 500–1500 m.[1][2][3]


Allium galanthum forms a cluster of bulbs, each up to 3 cm in diameter. Scapes are up to 60 cm tall. Leaves are tubular, about half as long as the scapes. Umbels are spherical with a large number of white flowers.[1][4][5]
