Anastasia Martin (born 1 May 1999/2000) is a British actress and singer. She began her career as a child actress on stage. On television, she is known for her role in Heirs of the Night (2019–2020). She also had a supporting role in the Netflix thriller In From the Cold (2022).
Martin is of Ukrainian heritage.[1][2] She attended Lady Eleanor Holles School, where she completed A Levels in drama, music, and English in 2018.[3] She also took part in a number of joint school productions between LEH and Hampton School, such as Mack and Mabel,[4] West Side Story,[5] and Welcome to Thebes.[6] She trained in Ballet and Contemporary Dance at the Richmond Academy of Dance[7] and joined the National Youth Music Theatre.
Martin began her career as a child actress, making her professional theatre debut at age 13 as the lead Mary Lennox on the 2013 UK tour of The Secret Garden directed by Matthew Gould, starting at the King's Head Theatre in Islington.[8] Gould cast Martin as Emily in the original cast of his subsequent musical production ShellShock, written by Tim Thomas, at the Waterloo East Theatre in 2014.[9] The following year, Martin made her television debut in an episode of the TNT crime drama Legends.
In 2019, Martin returned to television with the lead role of Alisa von Vamalia in the internationally co-produced vampire school series Heirs of the Night,[10] which she starred in for two seasons. She made a guest appearance in a 2020 episode of the BBC medical soap Doctors. In 2021, Martin starred as Beth March in the UK premiere of the Little Women musical adaptation at the Park Theatre in London,[11][12] alongside Lydia White, Hana Ichijo, and Mary Moore as the other March sisters. She also starred in the short film Tears Dry to Frost.[13] The following year, Martin had a recurring role as Faina Orlov in the Netflix thriller In From the Cold.[14][15] She made her feature film debut in Wolves of War in 2022 and in 2023, appeared in Cold War at the Almeida Theatre.
Martin has an upcoming role in Sky Max miniseries Amadeus.[16]
