The first President of the Society was OWADA Hisashi, current President of the International Court of Justice.[5] The current President of the Society is Judge XUE Hanqin, also a member of the International Court of Justice and until 2010 China's Ambassador to ASEAN and Member of the International Law Commission.[6]
The Society is in the process of launching a new Asian Journal of International Law, which will be published by Cambridge University Press beginning in 2011.[7]
