Aundh can be divided into the old Aundhgaon and the newly constructed suburban areas.
Famous Areas are Sindh Society, National Society, Parihar Chowk, Anand Park, Ashiyana Park, Gaikwad Nagar, Rohan Nilay amongst many. All areas along the University road, after Governor house, up to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge on river Mula, across which is Sangvi (and the Aundh Chest Hospital) in one direction and Spicer college region to Baner comes under Aundh.
History
'Aundh' formed a part of the region where the Battle of Khadki took place in 1817. Then in the late nineties,[when?] the Khinvasara family pioneered the area with extensive buying and developing lands. Today, the area has become one of the best and up-market areas in the city
