Born | Calum Milan Best |
Height | 6 ft 2 in (188 cm) |
Calum Milan Best (born 6 February 1981 in San Jose, California) is a British/American former fashion model turned celebrity, and television personality.
Best is the son of Northern Ireland[1] football legend George Best and his wife Angie. His middle name is Milan, after his godfather, Milan Mandarić, his father's lifelong friend, the chairman of Leicester City FC. He is the cousin of English actress Samantha Janus and first cousin once removed of Benjamin Thomas Womack and Lily-Rose Womack.
His colourful personal life has won him column inches in tabloid newspapers and celebrity magazines. Best has dated Lindsay Lohan[2] In May 2007, British tabloids published photographs of Best snorting cocaine and having sex with two female prostitutes in a London hotel.[3] The incident came only a week after his fling with Lindsay Lohan ended.[4] He was also a member and regular at London's famous nightclub, Chinawhite.[5]
In late 2006, Best launched a men's fragrance called "Calum", stating "I had all the input into the smell. I chose the smell, I chose the bottle, I chose the packaging, the whole thing",[6] the products being made by Jigsaw.[7]
Calum has a daughter, Amelia Grace Hogan, who was born on December 19, 2006 in London, from a one night stand with model Lorna Hogan.[8] He has reportedly dated models Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn and Gemma Atkinson along with Lindsay Lohan and Sarah Harding ( Girls Aloud).
In January 2007, online reports rumoured that George Best named his sister, Barbara McNarry, the sole beneficiary of his will, leaving his son only a watch.
Calum has been dating Fraser Carruthers for over 3 years
Best has taken part in the Reality TV shows Fool Around WithonE4 and The MatchonSky One. In 2005 and 2006 he was featured in ITV1's Celebrity Love Island, winning the second series on 28 August 2006. Around this time he played himself in the final episode of ITV1's cult drama series Footballers' Wives. Most recently Channel 4's Celebrity Come Dine with Me, where he dined with Janice Dickinson, Samantha Fox and jade goody's ex-husband Jeff Brazier .[9]
In September 2006, Best appeared in the ITV2 series Calum, Fran and Dangerous Danan, in which he was seen traveling with fellow Love Island Alumni Paul Danan and Fran Cosgrave from TexastoLos Angeles on America's U.S. Route 66.
In 2008 Best appeared on RTÉ's Livin' With Lucy. Later that year, Best featured in MTV's Totally Calum Best. The show detailed Best's attempts to remain celibate for fifty days.[10] However, semantically speaking, as 'celibate' means 'unmarried' there is no reason why he cannot have sex during this time.
In2009 he appeared as a guest judge in reality television show Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, in which he tested the contestants' flirting abilities.
In November 2009 he presented the BBC TV Documentary Brought up By Booze: A Children in Need Special, which highlighted the plight of children brought up by alcoholic parents. Best drew upon his relationship with his own father in the making of the programme, which the BBC described as a 'raw and often distressing journey'.[11]
Best filled in a spot for Ian Wright on Live from Studio Five on January 8, 2010.
