His Most Reverend Eminence Camillo Cardinal Laurenti S.T.D. (20 November 1861 - 6 September 1938) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and was former Prefect of the Sacred Congregation of Rites.
Laurenti was born in Monte Porzio Catone, Italy. He was educated at the Pontifical Gregorian UniversityinRome where he earned doctoratesinphilosophy and theology.
He was ordained to the priesthoodon7 June 1884. He served as a staff member of the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith from 1884 until 1887. He was created Privy chamberlain supranumerariuson3 August 1889. He was professor of philosophy at the Pontifical Urbanian Athenaeum "De Propaganda Fide" from 1892 until 1908 and was on 20 October of that year appointed as undersecretary of the Congregation. He was appointed as Secretary of the Congregation on August 12 1911. He served as a Consultor of the Sacred Congregation of the Holy OfficeonMarch 4 1912.
He was created and proclaimed Cardinal-DeaconofSanta Maria della Scala in the consistoryofJune 21 1921byPope Benedict XV. He participated in the conclave of 1922 that elected Pope Pius XI. Pope Pius appointed him Prefect of Sacred Congregation of Religious. Pope Pius appointed him Prefect of the Sacred Congregation of Ritesin1929. He opted for the order of cardinal priests and his deaconry was elevated pro hac vice to title in 1935. He died in 1938 and is buried at the Campo Verano cemetery.
