The Rocketdyne division was part of: North American Aviation (1955-1967); North American Rockwell (1967-1973); Rockwell International (1967 - 1996); and Boeing (1996-2005); and as Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne with Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corporation (2005-present).
The large Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL), was opened in 1947 by North American Aviation, to land-test forerunner and Rocketdyne engines. Now closed in the Simi Hills, it is retained by Boeing as a Superfund site for cleanup.}}
