Dalip Tahil (born October 30, 1952) is an Indian film actor who has appeared in over 100 Bollywood films playing supporting and villain roles. He has also appeared in the highly acclaimed 1982 international Award-winning film Gandhi in a small role.
He made his acting debut in the 1974 film Ankur directed by Shyam Benegal. This was followed by many supporting and villain roles in Hindi films throughout the 80s and 90s.
In2002 he appeared on stage and starred in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Bombay Dreams in the London West End and has also appeared in an Indian stage adaptation of Evita.
While in London he got the role of Dan Ferreira in the popular British BBC soap opera EastEndersin2003. After less than year playing the role he was forced to leave the soap after it was discovered his work permit had expired and he had to leave the country to return to India.[1]
Due to his depature many scripts that were written for his character on EastEnders had to be re-written to explain his absence.
