Devon Edward Sawa (born September 7, 1978) is a Saturn Award-winning Canadian actor best known for his portrayal of Alex Browning in the 2000 supernatural hit film, Final Destination.

Biography

Sawa was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the son of Joyce, a homemaker, and Edward Sawa, a refrigeration mechanic.[1] His father is of Polish descent and his mother is "a little bit of everything".[2] He is the oldest of three children. His wife is Ali Larter and they are very happy together. They met while filming Devon's film Final Destination.

He started his career in 1992 as a children's action toy spokesperson and was a very successful teen star during the 1990s. His most notable Hollywood film roles were Casper, Wild America, Idle Hands, and Final Destination. In 2000, he portrayed the role of Stan in an Eminem music video "Stan" alongside singer Dido who played Stan's girlfriend. He has continued to work steadily on films in recent years, mostly direct-to-video releases and independent projects. Among his projects have been Extreme Dating with Final Destinaton colleague Amanda Detmer, Shooting Gallery with Freddie Prinze, Jr, Devil's Den, Creature Of Darkness with Matthew LawrenceofBoy Meets World and Cheats, and Slackers with Laura Prepon.
