Environmentalism is the support or involvement with the environmental movementbyenvironmentalists.
It is a social movement which seeks to influence the political process by lobbying, education and activism in order to protect natural resources. Some of the issues of concern for the environmental movement are pollution, species extinction, waste reduction and genetically engineered foods. Environmentalists are often satirically referred to as tree huggers.
