curprev07:0707:07, 15 July 2022 Bodhiupasakatalkcontribs m30,389 bytes−17 Removed Khattiya(Kshatriya), no early Buddhist text attests the Buddha belonged to such a caste and no citation was given for the false claim. The Shakyas were non vedic and did not honour the Vedic social heirarchy nor the Vedic Brahmins. There are wiki references that attest to this as well. The Shakyans were considered of "Rough origin" by Brahmins in Buddhist texts and even Vedic texts such as Baudhyana Sutra/Dharmashastra mentions them of being of mixed origin.undoTags: Visual editMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit
