Can be restored if a secondary source can be found that makes a convincing argument without simply relying on the Plutarch passage. undo

  • curprev 21:4721:47, 2 February 2023L0ckz0r talk contribs 10,049 bytes +122 The main primary source, Plutarch's the life of Crassus does not mention the slaves being a fire brigade. While this claim is popular and I am not sure from where it originates - it needs to be sourced and cited. undo
  • curprev 21:4621:46, 2 February 2023L0ckz0r talk contribs 9,927 bytes −61 Again, no primary source (Plutarch's the life of Crassus) indicates that Crassus sold the house back to the owner. In fact it actually says Crassus retained the property. undo
  • curprev 21:4421:44, 2 February 2023L0ckz0r talk contribs 9,988 bytes +123 B.A. Marshall's Political Biography makes this claim, however the primary source cited (Plutarch's the life of Crassus) does not. Plutarch does not mention Crassus putting out fires, or that the slaves were in anyway fire fighters. He only mentions them being being builders and architects to rebuild the burnt down structures. While there may be some assumptions a historian could make about these slaves and firefighting, this should be sourced. undo
