The German Design Award (German: Deutscher Designpreis) is the official recognition of excellence in design offered by the Federal Republic of Germany.[1] It is one of the Council for Styling (German: Rat für Formgebung) and the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology donated honouring good design. The German Design Award has some specific features: enterprises cannot apply for it directly, but are nominated by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology. Another specific feature of this honouring is that it brings, instead of prize money, costs for the participants but with payments.[citation needed]
