The Taj Mahal Treasure is the name used to refer the remains of a shipwreck on Great Basses Reef discovered by Sir Arthur C. Clarke in 1961. The ship, ultimately identified as belonging to the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb, yielded fused bags of silver rupees, cannons, and other artifacts, carefully documented, became the basis for The Treasure of the Great Reef.[1][2][3]
