Interbau was a housing development, constructed as part of the 1957 International Building Exhibition in the Hansa area of West Berlin.
Working within contraints of size, layout and cost, forty-eight architects designed a huge range of accomodation, both low- and high-rise, with many permutations in plan. The contributing architects included Alavar Aalto, Luciano Baldessari, Paul Baumgarten, J H van den Broek and Jacob Bakema, Le Corbusier, Oscar Niemeyer and Pierre Vago.
