Japanese Acupuncture refers to a style of acupuncture that evolved in Japan in the ??? century[when?]. It is sometimes referred to as Meridian Therapy. While it is based on the same fundamental theories as Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has over time accentuated and refined different aspects of these theories. The most defining difference between Japanese Acupuncture and other forms of acupuncture (TCM, Dry Needling) is the smaller width of the needles used and relatively shallow depth to which they are inserted.
