Kathryn Elizabeth Moon (née Nageotte;[2][3][4] born June 13, 1991) is an American professional athlete, specializing in pole vaulting.[5][6] She won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 World Athletics Championships and 2023 World Athletics Championships (shared with the Australian Nina Kennedy), and a silver at the 2022 World Indoor Championships.[7] Moon was also 2019 Pan American Games silver medalist.
Katie Nageotte was a diveratOlmsted Falls High School and was a level 4 Gymnast through the age of 9 years.[8] She graduated from the school with a state record of 3.97 m (13 ft 0 in) in the pole vault.[9] She was the 2008 Division 1 state runner and the 2009 Division 1 state champion.
Her college career started at Ashland University where she won two NCAA Division II titles.[10]
Nageotte signed a sponsorship deal with Nike in 2018.[11]
