The McPherson Bulldogs football program is a college football team that represents McPherson College in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, a part of the NAIA. The team has had 28 head coaches since its first recorded football game in 1920.^[1] The current coach is Pete Sterbick who begins with the program starting the 2012 season.^[2]

Coaches

School records of the program go back to 1920, but other records show a player named Pop Hollinger played football for McPherson in 1917 or earlier.^[6] It is possible that records are incorrect, incomplete, or that there was no official coach before the 1920 season.

^ Although the first Rose Bowl Game was played in 1902, it has been continuously played since the 1916 game, and is recognized as the oldest bowl game by the NCAA.『—』indicates any season prior to 1916 when postseason games were not played.^[3]

^ A running total of the number of head coaches, with coaches who served separate tenures being counted only once. Interim head coaches are represented with "Int" and are not counted in the running total. 『—』indicates the team played but either without a coach or no coach is on record. ^ Overtime rules in college football were introduced in 1996, making ties impossible in the period since.^[4]

^ When computing the win–loss percentage, a tie counts as half a win and half a loss.^[5]
