Meezaan Jafri (born 9 March 1995) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. Son of actor Javed Jaffrey and Habiba Jaffrey and grandson of Jagdeep[1], Meezaan made his Bollywood debut in Malaal (2019) and garnered critical acclaim for his performance. He was last seen in Priyadarshan's Hungama 2, which released on Disney+ Hotstar [2]

Early Life

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Malaal maybe his first role in a film but this is not the first time he appeared on the silver screen. Meezaan was not initially inclined towards acting. He was passionate about music and sports and was interested in pursuing business study related to sports. He studied business at the Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania but then decided to follow his passion and started studying direction and editing at the School of Visual Arts in New York [3]. He then assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Padmavat. He has also worked as a body double for actor Ranveer Singh in Bhansali’s Padmaavat [4][5][6]. He was also seen in an assistant director role alongside Malaal co-star Sharmin Segal on the sets of Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt [7].

Acting Career

Jafri made his debut in Bhansali's Malaal, for which he won the Best Debutant Performer recognition at the Times Men of the Year awards 2020 [8] The actor was recently seen playing the lead role in the comedy-drama Hungama 2 alongside Paresh Rawal and Shilpa Shetty, which also marked director Priyadarshan's comeback after a 8 year long hiatus, which released on Disney+ Hotstar[9][10].
