The Nineteen Day Fast is a period of nineteen days beginning in the end of February/early March and ending near the end of March. During this time members of the Baha'i Faith between the ages of 15 and 65 are obligated (when in good health) to fast between sunrise and sunset. No food or water is to be consumed, and those who smoke are also asked not to during these hours.
