The bird park Olching is located just 20 km near the western part of Munich. On 20.000 m² a wide range of different species can be found: From the little tiger finch, over cranes, storks, rehas up to many multicolored parrots are present.

Particularly the amazing area of the so called Amper River distinguishes the park from others. All aviaries have natural plants which underline the naturalness of the park. A main objective of the park association is the breeding care of native birds. Therefore a large zone is defined as a retreat area for the local wildlife.

For the visitors there is also a typical Bavarian beer garden located in the park as well as a playground for the younger guests. Operator of the birdpark is the bird lover association of Olching.

History

The bird association of Olching exists since 1968 and has 120 members. In the beginning the area was privately used - only by the bird lovers for their continuously growing collection. In 1982 the park was opened for the public. Dogs are permitted. Guided tours are arranged on demand.
