The Panamerican Geography and History Institute was created in February 7th ,1928 , during a conference was held in La Habana. The city that was established to be the host was Mexico City .The Institute signed a an agreement with the (OEA) and became an specialized Organization . In 1974 this agreement was modified and signed.
Since It’s foundation The Panamerican Geography and History had supported and contributed to the advance of sciences that corresponds to it’s field.
Well known Scientist and Researchers also the highly Authorities of the countries that are members of this organization had played an important role in the evolution of the Institute since it’s birth.
Mission The Panamerican Geography and History Institute it’s an international organism dedicated to the generation and transference of knowledge specialized in the fields of Cartography , Geography, History and Geophysics, with the purpose of maintaining the actualized and in permanent communication to the researchers and scientific Institutions of the countries that are members .
Vision To be an excellent Organism , with wide international recognition, who has the most well known researchers and specialists in making multinationals projects with the purpose of promoting the wealthness of the countries that are members .
Objectives
°Encourage , coordinate and teach the Cartographic , Geophisic and Geographic and historical studies related to the sciences of interest for America.
°Promote, and make studies, works and Teaching in this disciplines.
° Promote the cooperation between institutes of those disciplines in America with the international organizations .
