Text may not be the best one, but if there is concern about it maybe it is better to remove the section until some better source is available. As for using for example Bavarian and German interchangeably in historical topics, this is most certainly questionable. Also, if someone/something was described Wlachian we can't just trans. to Romanian, despite the subsequent historical developments. Romulus was not Italian king. undo
  • curprev 10:3110:31, 18 July 2023Super Dromaeosaurus talk contribs 2,686 bytes −52 Wallachia is indeed a synonym of (southern) Romania and we could indeed replace Bavarian by German. No idea why this is controversial. Again Brâncovenesc art developed mostly in Wallachia not Moldavia and this church was built outside its historical period. This was a pretty poor way of handling a non-existant dispute but whatever. This is better than adding a random artistic style hoping it is correct. undo
  • curprev 10:0110:01, 18 July 2023MirkoS18 talk contribs 2,738 bytes +9 Also, while originating in Vlachia, the school seems to be established in Moldova as well (which seems reasonable considering broader influences like in this case). Randomly selected: https://www.hisour.com/brancovenesc-style-29861/amp/ undo
  • curprev 09:5609:56, 18 July 2023MirkoS18 talk contribs 2,729 bytes −1 Wallachia is not necessarily synonym for Romania (similarly, it would be incorrect to move "Bavarian school of painting from Baden" to "German school of painting from Baden"). But let's avoid this mess and potential nationalist POV pushing or what may alternatively be perceived as Romania silencing. Let's just choose the primary nomenclature for this school. undo

"Romanian" here refers to the people. I assume this is a mistranslation of "Vlach painting of Moldavia" or something similar. Brâncovenesc art is a randomly added link and it did not take place in Moldavia. undo Tags: Twinkle Undo

  • curprev 07:3007:30, 18 July 2023Super Dromaeosaurus talk contribs 2,730 bytes −2 sentence makes no sense. "Vlach" (=Romanian) must have been translated as "Wallachian" undo Tag: Reverted
