2014 Shpagiza tournament

Shpagiza(Pashto: شپږيزه) also written as Shpageeza (means SIXES) is a Twenty20 cricket tournament where 5 different zones teams accross Afghanistan participate for the title. The tournament started in 2013 and from then it usually takes place every year. The most recent edition is the Shpagiza (second edition) held in August/September 2014. It is currently supervised by ACB Vice-President Dost Mohammad Nazari, who serves as the League's chairman and Commissioner.[1]

History

The League was established in 2013 with the first season running through that year. 5 zone teams were concurrently established in 2013 to become the inaugural competitors. Afghanistan Cricket Board announced a second season of the competition will be held in August/September 2014.[2]

Teams

This 5 zone teams are participating in the Shpagiza tournament of T20 format are;

Champions

The champion of 2013 edition was the Spinghar Prangan (Speenghar Tigers). The 2014 edition is ongoing.

Performance by Team

Spinghar Prangan win the 2013 final by super over. while Band-e-Amir Dragons have won all it's games in concurrent edition yet. Band-e-Amir is coached by Australian cricket coach Peter William Anderson.
