The Silver Stream is a small stream flowing alongside the town of Mosgiel. It runs along a long line of houses. It has a history of flooding, but since the raising of ther banks it hasn't flooded. It is full of green sludege, eels, cockabillies and the occasional brown trout. It is part of the Taieri River Catchment. It is also one of the seven wonders of Mosgiel. The other six are the RSA clock/thermometer, the Wool Mill, the Carlyle Road Sewage plant which sits against the grassy banks of the Silver Stream, Mosgiel New World supermarket (the produce department in particular, their staff are very helpful and imformative), the War Memorial in ANZAC Park, and Taieri College, which has 900-odd students.
