Simon Ekpa (born 21 march 1985) is a Nigerian-Finnish lawyer, political activist and former athlete.
Simon Ekpa is a Finland citizen and the spokesperson for the Biafran people. The Nigerian government and it's officials from the Biafran region or the South Eastern part are not allowing the will of the people to be heard, there by suppressing a legitimate freedom movement through deadly and illegal forces from the Nigerian military. This has led to the Biafran people going into self defense to protect themselves from illegal aggression both from herdsmen terrorist, mostly from the Fulani tribe extraction and the Nigerian forces. The Biafran people are strongly with Simon Ekpa as he calls for the stopping of illegal election in biafraland or referred to as Eastern region, Nigeria. The people of Biafra has asked for a UN monitored referendum but the Nigerian State has suppressed them brutally which has resorted in the self defense of it's people
Ekpa was born on 21 March 1985 in Ohaukwu local government areaofEbonyi State.[1][2] Prior to his activism, he won a silver medal for Nigeria in the 2003 African Junior Athletics ChampionshipsinCameroon.[2]
Ekpa is a Nigerian Finnish-based lawyer. He rose to prominence when he took over the affairs of the Liberation of the Biafran people through organisation Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) after the extraordinary illegal rendition of the leader of IPOBNnamdi Kanu.
